The ASHE Model JB-40 is a compact, rugged, battery-powered digital temperature indicator designed for accurate temperature measurement in locations without power availability. It is a self-contained, microcontrollerbased instrument operating on two AA batteries in parallel. The indicator accepts RTD Pt-100 (3-wire) as well as J-type or K-type thermocouple inputs and displays the measured temperature on a 3½-digit seven-segment LCD display. The display range is configurable from -1999 to +1999 units. By default, the RTD Pt-100 input is calibrated for 0 to 400 °C, unless specified otherwise. J-type thermocouples are factory calibrated for 0 to 750 °C (1382 °F) and K-type thermocouples for 0 to 1200 °C (2192 °F). Temperature indication is selectable in either °C or °F.Designed for ultra-low power consumption, the JB-40 provides several months of uninterrupted operation on battery power. The micro-controller continuously samples the input and updates the display at ten-second intervals. A power-on switch is provided to switch off the instrument when not in use, to conserve battery life. With high accuracy, no moving parts, and excellent resistance to shock, dust, humidity, ambient temperature variations, and corrosive atmospheres, the JB-40 is an ideal replacement for conventional analog temperature indicators. The instrument is built using high-grade components to ensure long-term reliability and is backed by a two-year warranty against manufacturing and workmanship defects under normal operatingconditions.
